About the event

Is your body asking for deeper range of motion? Relief from aches and pain? Or perhaps you just want to slide into an effortless split at dance!  The truth is in your tissues.

Mobility training is a humbling process of excavation; if you allow, it can transform every aspect of your life.  In this workshop, Emi shares an element of her medicine: the drills, perspective, and love that have personally transformed her own vessel's capacity, and thus her experience of life. Every fiber of your body will be touched, wrung, renewed. No stone left unturned.

Her students can attest to the feeling of oneness and peace that comes of these workshops.  Emi is a shapeshifter. Her movement style is informed by years of Mongolian contortion, weight lifting, yoga, tumbling, belly dance, and intuitive somatic release, as well as her contortion coach's background in gymnastics, ballet, and circus performance. She teaches with a unique mixture of reverence, discipline, and play.

Each workshop is a combination of targeted drills, long holds, conditioning, and a juicy savasana at the end to integrate the DNA upgrades. Pay attention to the structure of class so you can apply these training principles to your home mobility practice and get your wonderings answered.   The following pre-reqs are in place, to ensure a baseline level of mobility and endurance. - 1-min plank hold - 15-sec handstand hold on the wall - Within 12 inches of flat split in any direction  If you want to join but feel intimidated by the word "contortion" -- try one class and see how you feel!
